Hello my name is Maria Carrillo a 2009-2010 Richfield Ambassador. This past year has gone by so fast, its hard to believe its almost over.?I have had the privilege of sharing my year with 4 amazing young ladies, Katelin Freeman, Emily Shnacky, Josie Carson and Mindy Bolar who will always act as the sisters?I never had. Being apart of this program has taught me more about myself as well as the community that surrounds me. I have lived in Richfield for?6 years and?I have learned many things that?I didn't know before, due to this program?I will always be a part of the 4th of July celebration and for ever be apart of this community.
?
My favorite event has been the Special Olympics, there is nothing better than putting a smile on someone's face. I would like to thank my remarkable parents Abigail Perez and Rodrigo Carrillo for being supportive. I would also like to thank my 5 brothers; Oscar, Rodrigo Jr., Victor, Jesus and most of all Cruz for being there every step of the way even if it involved hair spray.
When im not volunteering or in a crown, I enjoy rollerblading, playing soccer and reading. Next year?I will be a Maverick at
Minnesota State University, Mankato. I will be majoring in Social Studies Education due to my love for children, teaching, and the joy of being a leader.
